Christmas Buddies - Grade 1M and 4V

Grade 1M had such an awesome time visiting with our Grade 4V BUDDIES at the.... MIDDLE CAMPUS. First we walked all the way to the Middle Campus. When we got there we sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" for Mrs. Medel (an annual tradition). We got to help our buddies do some Christmas word games. Then Mr. Stuart played games with us in the BIG gym. We got to play outside, in the gym or in the Library at lunch recess. After that we ate lunch with our buddies and watched a Christmas video and some Simon's Cat videos. Finally we walked back to the Primary Campus! What an amazing day! We love our GRADE 4V BUDDIES! Thanks for inviting us Ms. V and Grade 4V... and thanks for the beautiful cards and yummy reindeer candy canes!

Grade 1M - Christmas Fun with our ELIM Grandbuddies

Grade 1M once again had a wonderful time with our ELIM buddies. This time we sang Christmas carols, shared some delicious hot chocolate and read a variety of Christmas stories together! We even got candy canes from our Grandbuddies!

Skytrain and Seabus Adventure - Wednesday, November 23, 2011

From the King George Skytrain Station in Surrey to the Lonsdale Quay Public Market in North Vancouver, Grades 1V and 1M made an unprecedented 24 stops as we rode the Skytrain and Seabus on our latest adventure. We had many wonderful experiences as we traveled, explored, shopped and ate! Even the weather co-operated as the sun made a brief appearance so we could really enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds around the Quay! MANY thanks again to the AMAZING parents, grandparents and special friends who spent their day with us! We could NOT do it without you all! Enjoy the pictures!

TWIN Day - Friday, November 18, 2011

No Sedin twins... but we had many other "twins" make an appearance in Grade 1M today.

We even had a set of quintuplets! Wow!

Grade 1M Puppet Show - DANCING ANIMALS

Hi everyone,

Today we made a puppet show called DANCING ANIMALS. We made invitations for all of the children in 1M at our houses and we even made a seating plan. After that we set up all the chairs and we were ready for the show. The kids loved the show! It was fun! There is even a video that Mrs. Meyer took. Hot Lunch and TWIN Dress-Up Day - Friday, November 18

This Friday, November 18 is our second Hot Lunch Day of the year! We are also going to have TWIN Dress-Up day. Students are encouraged to find a friend (or two) and dress alike! We look forward to seeing lots of TWINS at school that day!

Square Dancing - Grade 1M

Grade 1M had SO much fun this week as we learned to square dance with Mr. Bob Dallman - a square dance caller for over 42 years! Here are some pictures of us. Head couples, promenade, bridge, and flutterwheel were just a few of the amazing things that we heard and did!

Remembrance Day with Our ELIM Grandbuddies - Grade 1M

On Friday afternoon Grade 1M had the privilege of spending time with our ELIM Grandbuddies and doing a Remembrance Day craft together. We also had the honour of listening to Mr. George Gunn - one of our Grandbuddies - talk about his experiences as a WWII veteran. He even brought the official uniform that he wore as a Canadian soldier and all of the medals that he received - just for us! Even without the treat that we got it was an amazing afternoon!

The ROBOTS of.... Grade 1M

We all had SUCH a great day BEING robots! The students also MADE amazing robots out of almost everything imaginable! Parents, thank you SO much for your creative support!

BUDDIES - Grades 1M and 4V Oct. 21, 2011

We had another awesome time with our Buddies from Grade 4V. They braved the pouring rain to eat lunch with us, spend recess with us and play in the gym with us. We had FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Firefighter Brian Visits Grades 1V and 1M

Today we invited Mr. Brian MacGillivray into our classroom to teach us about fire safety. Firefighter Brian is a firefighter with the Vancouver Fire Department. He told us all about the ABC's of fire safety, smoke detectors, how to safely leave a burning building, how to make a fire plan to get out of our homes in case of a fire, and when to STOP, DROP and ROLL. Firefighter Brian also showed us some of the awesome (and noisy) equipment that he uses when he is working hard to fight fires! We even got Fire Chief hats to remember the day!!
